so long, david
David leaves today for a ten day trip to Northern Ireland. He is leading a group of ten college students, and they plan to serve at a school outside of Belfast, as well as spend some time exploring the country. I wrote him these ten little letters for him to open each day while he is there, which is something we both like to do for each other when we are apart.
I so wish I was one of those independent people who thrived when their spouse was away, but I am afraid I am the opposite. I am sure some of it has to do with us getting married at such a young age, so neither of us have lived independent from one another before. I certainly wouldn't change our young marriage, but I could learn a thing or two from some of my girlfriends (who probably think this all sounds pretty needy). But I am telling you, without sticking to a strict schedule for myself, you can pretty much bet that you will find me on the couch eating mac n' cheese and pringles watching reruns of jerseylicious.
So here's to a productive and fun ten days!

its never fun to be without the husband!! wanting your husband around is a good thing! love the idea of letters for each day :)
What a beautiful idea to send him a letter for every day he is gone!
So sweet...I always love notes (getting and sending them!) Good luck living on your own for 10 days!
That's really sweet. 10 days will go by fast. And I don't consider that needy at all. Imo, it's totally normal to feel the way you do.
I love that you wrote him 10 notes! And I'm the same way about being apart from my husband. It just feels strange. But I like that you are planning some fun things...I would definitely be upping my reality TV intake for sure. ;)
Aww that's so sweet!! the days will fly by! Just make sure you occupy yourself with plenty of fun and activities!! He'll be home before you know it!
Ugh. I am not one of those independent women either! I get all "woe is me!" if Kyle even leaves for the weekend.
I love that idea, so cute!! And we're the same way, we hate being apart. It's the worst!
